Just filled out a FAFSA today.  They’ve updated the website and the process was a lot easier this year than previous years.  The system now can reuse information from a previous FAFSA you have filled out as well as transferring information about your tax return directly from the IRS.  Pretty slick and easy.

The only issues I saw were that the website wouldn’t let me use Chrome (said it wasn’t a supported browser, while some other Webkit-based browsers were on the list).  Apparently the list of supported browsers just hasn’t been updated for a while, since I received warning messages (but was allowed to proceed) with both Internet Explorer 9 and Firefox 4.  We expect our government to be a generation or two behind on technology, though, don’t we?
