As a kid, I used to watch the daily test of the Emergency Broadcast System when it ran between two shows on PBS. I still remember the test:

[High-pitched tone]

This is a test. This is only a test–of the Emergency Broadcast System. If there were a real emergency, it would be followed by news or instructions.

Likewise, this post is a test. I’m finally setting up a blog that will become my website. I’m working on the theme right now.
